In cloud 23

Michaela and Suzy in Cloud 23. First time I'd been to Cloud 23 which is half way up the Beetham Tower at the top of the Hilton Hotel. The views are fantastic. I'd love to go back there sometime soon with my proper camera. I did take the compact camera so I'll post one of those photos. This is taken with the iphone.

Suzy's birthday - yay!

A really nice evening. Meal in Pizza Express, drinks in Cloud 23 and then on to Fab Cafe. Happy Birthday Suzy.

Bell at Sacred Trinity

I went up the tower yesterday to get some photos of our bells at Sacred Trinity and here is one of the photos. We have a pretty good set of bells and a nice lot of ringers who practise on a Tuesday evening. I keep meaning to have a go myself sometime. Bell ringing is a very mathematical process that's quite intriguing. As a Brian Eno fan, I find his "Bell Studies For The Clock OF The Long Now" really good and helps to understand a bit about bell ringing. Read about that album here:

BBC Phil in St Phil's (well some of them!)

A really beautiful concert, with some familiar and some very unfamiliar music. It was really lovely to hear the harp in st Phil's. It sounded great.

Duke Special

How do we keep getting so many good gigs in church? I've posted some photos on picasa at: I could do with some help with the captions though as I've forgotten some people's names!

Damon & Naomi

Damon and Naomi finished the day at St Phil's with a beautiful set. Damon kept saying how wonderful it was singing in St Phil's and it did sound good. They seemed like really nice people too.

Tim & Sam's Tim & Sam Band

Sounds From The Other City happened on Sunday 2nd May. This year it was down the St Phil's end of Chapel St. It was a really good day but a long one!
