Today in Salford and Manchester everything ground to a halt. Schools were closed, people didn't go into work, people spent time building snow men/women/teddies and talking to their neighbours. It occured to me that actually the world might be a better place with a bit more snow as we seemed to all slow down (and those that didn't often regretted it). We spent time admiring beauty, helping our neighbours and relaxing with a warm drink - all good. Okay there are some people who are stressed by it and some people feel very isolated but on the whole it felt like a good lesson in how we ought to slow down a bit!
I've posted some photos from the day (Starting about 6.30 am) on Picasa here: http://picasaweb.google.com/the.andy.salmon/DeepSnowInSalford?feat=directlink. Spend a moment looking at them and enjoy!
