I'm trying not to look down!

Today I've been on the roof of both churches. At St Phil's we were marking our lead with Smartwater but also getting the pigeons out of the roof space in the top of the portico. This is the hole that they've been getting through and I've stuffed it with chicken wire to keep them out. It is a slightly unnerving thing to be perched on a plank across the rafters and look down on this potential drop. Still, the pigeon's have gone and the wire seemed to be keeping them out when I went back down to Trinity to look at the leak in the tower.

Our ex Christmas tree

Christmas is over

This is Sacred Trinity's tree in the back of my car about to go to the household recycling site. I'm now at home dismantling our tree but our Zoe is getting very tearful that Christmas is over. She had to go up to her room, put on a Christmas CD and have a good cry. I suppose it is a bit sad when something nice is finished. I love Christmas but if it was always Christmas we wouldn't be able to look forward to it. Probably good that some good things finish.

Christmas Self portrait

I rather like this image although maybe it's a little too subtle for a self portrait! I've been taking some pictures thinking of next years Christmas publicity. I've found it difficult to get St Philip's Church reflected in the bauble without getting me in it. I'll have to take the camera remote over there.

One of my wishes for 2012...

is for the roadworks on Chapel St to be finished off and then wow us with how well the new road layout works. There has been a lot of complaining about the raodworks but I've always said we need to see how it will work. We also need to see new developments on the dereelict sites and this is also part of my wishes for 2012. I'm hopefull that the new road layout will impress us and I want to see new developments and new people moving into the Chapel St area. This is already a great place to live and work but a few more shops would be great and more pedsetrians and cyclists moving around the area would add vibarancy and make more sense of the road layout changes. We've had to live with a lot of disruption in 2011 but let's hope that in 2012 we find that it was all worth it!
