Labyrinth at St Phil's

One comment from a surprised punter was: 'I feel really chilled. It was good.' We're glad to be of service!

Me as a wood elf

Photo of me taken by eloise. This tree just demanded a photo like this!

Burst of light

Still in Roundhay park. I really love these images.

light through trees

The end

13 hours after leaving Sacred Trinity in the dark, in a mini-bus, we're back. Tired, aching, but feeling good about having done it.

About to enter Salford

Some of these people such as my lovely family have just joined us to walk the last 3 miles or so.

Just crossing M60

Wildlife on the way

MBB canal

At the mo we're alongside the canal. It's beautiful. This is the Manchester, Bolton & Bury Canal, the same one that they're reopening near me, in Middlewood Locks.

In Bury and the sun is out

And so are henry's legs!

Awesome art

Personally, I love this stuff but Henry isn't convinced!

Pause for breath

Roadside detritus in Waterfoot

The morning after the night before sees abandoned take away containers and an empty champagne bottle!

The Irwell

This is the river what we're following

It has started raining

But it won't get us down.

Setting off on our walk

It's five in the morning, 30 miles to go, it's dark and I might be wearing sunglasses. Hit it!

Feet at the ready.

Tomorrow i am going to walk 30 miles. It will hurt but will hopefully be good. It's a sponsored walk down the route of the River Irwell from where it starts just above Bacup to Sacred Trinity Church - From the Source to the Heart of the City. We're raising funds for Christian Aid, so if you'd like to sponsor me go to my JustGiving page.

Okay, maybe this is enough for the moment!

Whilst we were taking the photos a taxi driver seemed to come round a second time, presumably to check out what we were doing!

I love night shots...

...but we did take rather a lot of them.

Another photo

Here's another of the photos.

Photos of candles

Tonight, Eloise, Abby & I were taking photos of candles outside St Phil's. I thought we might get something nice for publicity material. I think they are quite nice, what do you think?

We certainly got lots of interesting looks from those who went past.

Here's one of the photos.

Well I suppose they are Swedish, so perhaps they have an excuse.

This is one of Ikea's signs, that someone has kindly corrected. It seems that they took the view that it doesn't matter where the apostrophes go as long as there's the right number for the sentence.

Cake eating in Ikea

We were lucky enough to spend a few hours on Saturday in Ikea, Warrington. We got lots of nice bits and pieces and may go back for a settee at some point. Like many people I have a bit of a love-hate realtionship with Ikea. They are very cheap and a lot of their stuff is very nicely designed. However their popularity makes them very busy and also means that the furniture you buy there is also in many, many other homes!

Thursday night at Trinity

Another night, another gig. Anna Kashfi were very good, as were all the support acts.

Ooops!

Beautiful Salford

This is part of my route back from a meeting and I was struck by how lovely it is. This is the Salford loopline between Worsley and Monton. I had a meeting in Worsley and cycled. If I'd driven I wouldn't have got to enjoy this lovely route.
