Leavers service

We had to say farewell to our year 6 children this week. We had a leavers assembly at school and a leavers service at church. There were a few tears shed but I suppose it is a fact of life that children grow up and move on. Emma Wright, who is a fantastic teacher and has been at the school 10 years is also moving on. She's going to be a deputy head in Warrington and will be missed.

Visit from Oz

My brother and his girlfriend, Lisa, have been visiting from Australia. It was fantastic to see them. We gave them a bit of local culture - visited the museum of science and industry and had a meal on the curry mile. Can you see any family likeness? I'll give you a clue, my brother Reg is on the right in this picture...

View from tower

This is a view not often seen as there is normally a clock face in the way!

Mending the clock at St Phil's

One clock face was damaged in the winds in january and at last it's getting fixed. It's not an easy job - and that's the polite version!
